P&G Moving Forward

P&GMARTINSBURG, W.Va. — More information of the new Procter & Gamble facility coming to Martinsburg’s Tabler Station Business Park will be coming soon.

State Commerce Secretary Keith Burdette spoke about the plant on MetroNews “Talkline” with Hoppy Kercheval Tuesday morning.

He says they should be making an announcement in the coming days.

“I believe the company is shortly going to be announcing what they’re going to make,” Burdette said.

Procter & Gamble is a multinational manufacturer of personal care and household cleaning products like detergents, razors, paper towels, toothpaste, and dish soaps.

Burdette has kept in touch with officials from Procter & Gamble to discuss those products but a date for an announcement is still in the works.

He went on to say, “We’ve been in discussions about a timing on that. They’ve been completing all that process and I think they’re about to announce their product lines.”

The new Procter & Gamble facility is creating about 1,000 temporary jobs for construction, and is slated to hire over 700 permanent positions once it is up and running in the fall of 2017.
