CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — This weekend, the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races will host the 32nd annual West Virginia Breeders Classics.

The thoroughbred horse race will offers a $300,000 purse but also offers events like a golf tournament, an evening gala, and opportunities to make charitable donations to state wide organizations.

Paul Espinoza is the play-by-play announcer at the Breeders Classics. He mentioned on Panhandle Live Friday how this year’s event will be different with sports betting now available at the casino.

“This use to be only reserved for places like Atlantic City and Vegas,” said Espinoza. “But it really gives you a big city feel while keeping that small town charm.”

The first post time for the nine race card is at 7 p.m. Saturday evening.
