Update on Fire Investigation at 220 North Church Street

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The Martinsburg Police Department has offered an update on the investigation of a fire at a duplex that claimed the life of a 13-year-old autistic boy.
According to a release, fire investigators with the West Virginia Fire Marshals Office and the Martinsburg Fire Department determined that the fire was intentionally set.
Jeffery Bailey Junior was among six people who were taken to hospitals after the fire Monday morning on 220 North Church Street. He passed away due to his injuries.
The release says that other residents were injured during process of attempting recuse Jeffery who was trapped and from elevated falls while escaping the burning duplex.
The Fire Marshalls Office is offering an award forĀ  anyone with information relating to the investigation.
