UPDATE: Boil Water Advisory lifted for Inwood, Bunker Hill areas

Update 6.19.19:

INWOOD, W.Va. — The Boil Water Advisory issued for the Inwood and Bunker Hill areas has been lifted.

The Berkeley County Public Service Water District announced Tuesday the advisory was placed as a precaution after a loss of pressure from the Runnymeade Road water treatment facility. A leak was reported at around 2 Monday morning.

“All water quality samples collected and analyzed in the laboratory indicated the water is in compliance with regulations.”  -Berkeley County Public Service Water District

INWOOD, W.Va. — Until further notice, the Inwood and Darksville areas are under a boil water advisory.

The Berkeley County Public Service Water District says a “significant loss of water” happened at around 2 Monday morning.

Due to the leak, authorities are uncertain if the water is safe to drink.

“The pressures are stabilized at this time but the leak has yet to be found. When such occurs, there is uncertainty as to the safety of the water until subsequent bacteria testing can be completed to determine if the water is in compliance with Drinking Water Standards.”  -Berkeley County Public Service Water District

The impacted include the general area of Inwood and Darksville in proximity to the Bunker Hill Water Plant along Runnymeade Road.

Authorities advise that you boil water before drinking or use bottled water as an alternative.
