Today’s 97.5 WLTF returns to the air waves

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. – After an absence of a year and a half, West Virginia Radio Corporation is pleased to announce the return of Today’s 97.5 (WLTF).

“Over the past year plus, we’ve received many requests from listeners and advertisers to bring back Today’s 97.5,” said West Virginia Radio Corporation—Martinsburg market manager Jeff Adams.  “The station was very popular, not only as a great source of music, but also for news, information, entertainment, and as a very effective marketing vehicle for our many advertisers.  We’ve been grateful for all the feedback, and it’s clear that listeners and advertisers have a need for Today’s 97.5.  So it’s back!”

As was the case until November 2017, the Today’s 97.5 lineup is anchored by morning drive host Rona Mensah, a past winner of the West Virginia Broadcasters’ Association award for outstanding morning show.

“Rona is the foundation of our success,” said Adams.  “I’ve never worked with anyone that listeners felt such a deep kinship with.  They really treat her like family.”

Middays are hosted by Emily Meadows, who was awarded radio personality of the year by The West Virginia Broadcasters Association in March, 2018.  The afternoon drive host is Alex Vic.  Meadows and Vic are co-program directors of Today’s 97.5.

“Emily and Alex are the engines of the station,” said Adams.  “In addition to being great announcers, they’re the leaders who pull it all together.”

And a beloved former host of the radio station, John Tesh, returns to evenings (7-midnight).  “John’s ‘Intelligence For Your Life’ program was hugely popular and will be again,” Adams said.

Today’s 97.5 will once again play the biggest hits from a wide era, 1980 up to the biggest pop hits of today.  80’s hits will be featured prominently, including a full hour from the decade on the “All 80’s Lunch” weekdays at noon.

And, at Christmastime, Today’s 97.5 will again transition to a fulltime holiday format, playing “All Time Christmas favorites.”  “Oh, listeners really missed that,” said Adams.

In addition to broadcasting from Martinsburg at 97.5 FM, Today’s 97.5 can be heard from anywhere online at todays975.com.  Today’s 97.5 is owned and operated by West Virginia Radio Corporation.
