SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — Shepherd University’s College of Business launched last month and it is offering students new opportunities in the area of business education.

The new college offers courses in business administration, economics and finance, and accounting.

Students will also have access to the newly formed Applied Business Council, which consists of CEOs and presidents from several companies.

The council will offer resources for internships, curriculum review, lectures, and real-world case studies.

Dr. Ben Martz is the dean of the College of Business and he says the program has been a long time coming.

“There’s a whole batch of alumni that have been asking for this for over several years,” said Martz. “And finally, its come to fruition”

The College of Business also plans to partner with other departments to offer business expertise to students in other majors.
