Mother found dead inside Berkley County residence, son charged with neglect

BUNKER HILL, W.Va. — Berkeley County deputies have arrested the son of a woman found dead at a residence earlier this week.

Deputies found 72-year old Nellie West deceased inside a home at 210 Warrior Drive in Bunker Hill on Monday, November 6.

Members of the Criminal Investigation Division were called to the residence for assistance. Investigators observed that West had injuries consistent with neglect. Her body was transported to Charleston for an autopsy on Tuesday. The also showed evidence of neglect.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Nellie West’s son, Mark West. He was taken into custody at his residence Thursday afternoon and charged with neglect of an incapacitated adult causing death.
