Martinsburg Police Department identifies drug houses

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The Martinsburg Police Department announced the initiation of four cases under the city’s Drug House ordinance, listing four separate homes and property owners as being non-compliant with the ordinance.

In a press release, the department released the names of property owners, property addresses and the evidence used to obtain the orders of abatement at each location. Carlos Niederhouser was listed as the owner of 301 East Burke St., Bradley Heacock was listed as the owner of 518 West Addition, Vantap Teng was listed as the owner of 235 Porter Av, and Richard Beavers was listed as the owner of 616 North Second St., a non-rental, owner occupied property.

Police Chief Maury Richards tells WEPM News that the orders of abatement will help ensure that future tenants at those properties are not engaged in illegal activities.

“We want to make sure its not a revolving door where the same type of illegal activity is happening over and over again,” Richards said.

The department said the four cases will appear before the Municipal Court of the City of Martinsburg on Aug. 30 to provide evidence of compliance.
