Family of five displaced following Cascade house fire

CASCADE, Md. — A house fire has displaced a family of five.

The Maryland State Fire Marshals Office said crews responded to the 25303 Springdale Avenue Wednesday morning for a blaze they believe started in the living room.

The damage to the home is estimated to be around $200,000, according to the agency’s news release.

Crews from Smithsburg, firefighters from Fountaindale, Waynesboro and Blue Ridge Summit responded.

No injuries were reported.
