EPTA preparing to add more bus shelters, mobile ticketing app

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — 2019 is poised to be a big year for the Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority (EPTA).

Deputy Director Elaine Bartoldson and Director Doug Pixler were on WEPM’s ‘Panhandle Live’ Thursday touting increased ridership in the eastern panhandle while detailing expansion plans.

They said  new shelters in the process of being built including ones located near Joshua Gardens and the Martinsburg-Berkeley County Public Library.

EPTA is also close to launching its mobile ticketing app.

“People will have no reason to not know when the busses are going to be there, where they’re at and all of those things,” said Pixler. “So just our wayfinding accessabilities and things like that are so important to us as we move forward.”

EPTA said they are still a year away from breaking ground for their new operations center.
