MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Karin Dunn will be the new Program Manager for the Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation.

Dunn, who has been serving as the acting Executive Director at Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Panhandle, will begin the new role July 17.

Foundation Executive Director Michael Whalton said they received many strong applicants for the position, but Dunn stood out.

“She (Dunn) has a lot of program management experience and nonprofit experience and a long history in the community,” Whalton told WEPM News.

Since the Community Foundation’s Grant and Scholarship programs have nearly doubled in size during the past five years, the board  approved the hiring of a new full-time Program Manager to work in the Martinsburg office.

Whalton said that while they are looking for a grant to help pay for the position, they have set aside enough money to keep it full-time for the next couple of years.

The foundation received a total of 35 applications and narrowed it down to 10 for interviews.
