City Council approves bid for new HVAC Unit for Water Filtration Plant

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The Big Spring Water Filtration Plant will soon be the recipient of a new HVAC unit.

During the Thursday night’s Martinsburg City Council meeting, the council approved a bid recommendation for a state of the art unit that will replace the old one.

City Manager Mark Baldwin said the new unit will cut down on maintenance at the plant.

“That plant is probably 15 years old now. So, those units become to the point of more maintenance than we need,” said Baldwin. “So, we are going to purchase new ones for that plant.”

The new HVAC unit will also help the plant become more energy efficient.
