Miss West Virginia’s Teen Allison Dodson

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — Miss West Virginia’s Teen is busy on any given year, but this year, in addition to being dual-enrolled in high school and college, she’s been prepping for the Miss America’s Teen pageant.

Allison Dodson is a Charles Town native and a Washington High School senior.  She’s also dual-enrolled at Shepherd University with plans to major in Biochemistry with a minor in Cellular and Molecular Biology.

Her social impact advocacy is aimed at education and environmental issues.

She founded a nonprofit organization to address some of our community’s challenges. Through Allison’s Helping Hands – H.O.P.E. (Help Our Planet Earth), she has hosted book, food, and clothing drives, and read to elementary school students to promote literacy.

She says she has been focused on the bigger picture as the competition grew closer:

She already has a list of goals:

Miss America’s Teen is a division of the Miss America program for young women ages 13-18. This year’s finals will be streamed on YouTube on Saturday, January 13.
