BURLINGTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Division of Highways wants motorists to know there will be lane closures on Southbound Interstate 81, at Inwood Exit 5, in Berkeley County, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Monday, May 23, 2022, through Monday, June 6, 2022, to allow for the demolition of the WV 51 bridge over I-81.
Traffic will be directed off the Interstate via the southbound exit ramp and back onto the Interstate via the southbound on ramp. In addition, there will be periodic lane closures on the Northbound side to remove the abutments. Motorists are advised to stay alert and travel with caution through the work zone. Exact schedule is weather dependent.
