Justice, officials holding press conference Thursday on MARC

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Gov. Jim Justice and other government officials will hold a press conference on Thursday regarding the Maryland Area Regional Commuter service.

Thursday’s press conference comes two weeks after the state was supposed to provide the Maryland Department of Transportation $2.3 million for train services.

Maryland is proposing cutting the number of weekday trains from six to two. Maryland requested $3.4 million to keep the services in place, but the West Virginia Legislature agreed to pay $1.1 million.

Thursday’s press event is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Martinsburg Railway Station.
