WAYNESBORO, PA — Three people were injured during an explosion at a Waynesboro business Tuesday morning.

A Waynesboro Dispatch Supervisor tells the Panhandle News Network the call came out between 7:30 and 7:45 Tuesday morning for an explosion at Johnson Controls at 100 Cumberland Valley Ave.

The dispatcher confirmed that two patients were flown out for treatment at specialty hospitals and one patient was transported to Meritus Medical Center.  Their conditions were not released.

No word on the cause of the explosion or the extent of damage to the facility.

The plant sits just north of the state line with Maryland.
