MARTINSBURG, W.Va– Jefferson’s run in the West Virginia Little League state tournament was cut short by a 4-2 loss to Hurricane in Oatesdale Park on Wednesday.
Tyler Henderson cleared the fence with 20+ feet to spare in the top of the 3rd for a 3-run Homer to break open the scoring for Hurricane.
Jefferson responded in the bottom of the inning with an Andy Roberts sacrifice fly to make it 3-1.
Roberts continued his tournament heroics with a solo home run in the fourth to cut the Hurricane lead to just a run.
Jefferson never threatened again, Hurricane added the game’s final run in the 5th on a wild pitch.
Hurricane remains undefeated and advances to play in the State Championship game at 6 pm.
