MARTINSBURG, W.Va – Jefferson defeated Ona-Milton 5-0 Tuesday night to advance to the final 4 teams in the West Virginia State Little League Tournament.
The spotlight was stolen by pitcher Andy Roberts who threw 5.1 innings striking out 9, allowing no runs, 1 hit, and walk each.
“That was a game-time decision.” Said Jefferson Coach Lowery about starting the youngster. “I was thinking all day about who to start, and the thought didn’t cross my mind to start him till I got out of my car. He’s a dog, he’s one of those kids you van put out in that situation and he doesn’t get phased.”

Jefferson scored 2 unearned runs in the first inning en route to their fourth victory of the Tournament.
Ona-Milton only threatened once, in the second inning, but Roberts stranded both runners.
Braden Brown and Mason Lowery each continued their hot run of form supplying rbi’s in the 4th inning.
The 5th run was scored via fielders choice in the 5th inning.
Jefferson advances to face an undefeated Hurricane team tomorrow at 5:30 PM at Oatesdale Park.
On the other side of the bracket, Bridgeport will face Barboursville at 8 pm. The Championship game will be played Thursday with the first pitch TBD.
