Winter weather, snow accumulation expected Tuesday night

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Residents of the Eastern Panhandle and surrounding areas can expect a messy Tuesday night and Wednesday morning commute.

The National Weather Office’s DC/Baltimore office has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for eastern West Virginia, northern and central Virginia, and central and western Maryland with the exception of Garrett County.

Meteorologists say rain will change to snow Tuesday night and could accumulate 1-3 inches, with greater amounts possible in higher elevations.
