WILLIAMSPORT AND SMITHSBURG MD — Over the weekend marked a “historic milestone” as volunteer EMS employees from Williamsport Fire/EMS and Smithsburg EMS transitioned into County employment. The Board of County Commissioners expressed “a special thank you to all involved for their dedication. The Board of County Commissioners continues to support public safety through funding and initiatives.”
Washington County Government released a post saying planning for this transition has been underway for years, and expressed excitement at welcoming these employees to the Washington County team.
