West Virginia Democratic Party: Three Berkeley County Residents Being Considered to Replace Long-Time 16th District Senator Unger

(Berkeley County, WV) – Today 16th Senate District Democrats submitted three names to Governor Justice for consideration to fill the vacancy of Democratic Senator John Unger who resigned earlier this month after being appointed to a Berkeley County Magistrate post.

The committee met, held interviews, and voted before submission. The three candidates submitted to Governor Justice are Michelle Barnes Russell, Donn Marshall, and Curtis Keller.

An announcement from the state Democratic Party says all three candidates are from Berkeley County.

Governor Justice has five days to make his selection.
