Weather Related Announcements – January 03, 2022

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — As a weather system brings the first snow of the year to the listening area, some school and offices have altered their plans.

Jefferson County Schools are on a two-hour delay.  In Berkeley County Schools,  students are off; today is a teacher work day

In Virginia,  Winchester City, Frederick County Public Schools, and Clarke County Public Schools are closed today, January 3, 2021.

Maryland State Employees: Liberal Leave Policy in Effect

The State of Maryland  has declared liberal leave beginning at 6 am through 6 pm in the following counties: Garrett, Allegany, Washington, Frederick, and Carroll. Emergency Essential Employees should report as scheduled. Non-emergency essential employees who report to the office to work may use liberal leave upon notification to the employee’s supervisor. Teleworkers should work as scheduled unless leave is granted.

On this day when a snowy weather event has canceled or delayed schools and offices around the area, the City of Winchester has announced City offices will open at 10 am today (1/3).
No School Day child care program at Jim Barnett Park will open at 9 am. Available for WPS students only. $8 for HIVE kids and $30 other WPS students. Register when you arrive.
No changes to WinTran routes at this time.
