Washington County Sheriff’s Office Releases Homicide Details after son allegedly kills mother

HAGERSTOWN, MD — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has released more details about the woman reportedly killed by her son this week in Hagerstown.

On November 17, 2021, at 8:55 AM, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 11300 block of Greenberry Road, Hagerstown, MD, for a reported deceased person.
Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased female in the driveway of the residence. The female was identified as Susan Lynn Hartz, 45. Hartz was observed to have visible wounds to her person. The deceased was transported to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Baltimore, Maryland, for autopsy.

During the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office identified Hartz’s son, Jordan Lynn Wiles, 22, as the alleged perpetrator of her death.

A community tip led to the location of Wiles; he was placed under arrest without incident and transported to Central Booking for processing.

Wiles is currently being held at the Washington County Detention Center without bond.
