Two Berkeley County Students Named WVU Foundation scholars

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Two Berkeley County students are getting a full ride from WVU. West Virginia University on Monday announced five school students are its West Virginia University Foundation Scholars.

The Foundation Scholarship is open for West Virginia students who have a minimum GPA of 3.8 and a minimum composite score of 31 on the ACT or an equivalent SAT score. When paired with the state’s PROMISE Scholarship, the Foundation Scholarship’s value is more than $90,000 over four years.

Among the winners, — Laasya Chennuru, /LAHS-ee-yuh CHEN-uh-roo/, a Martinsburg High School student, wants to study biochemistry and become a pediatrician and

Musselman High School senior Isaac McCarthy, who plans to study music and health, and wants to join the university’s concert band and other ensembles.
