CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A post over the weekend from the West Virginia Troopers Association provided an update on the two
Berkeley County- based troopers who were injured last month during a gunfight with a suspect in Martinsburg.

The post says Trooper Abe Bean had surgery on his shoulder December 29th and is recovering in the hospital.
He and his family are now working with case management discussing his options for rehabilitation and discharge, according to the Association.
Trooper Cadin Spessert is home recovering, the post continues. “He is being closely followed by his surgeon and during the next week will discuss surgery to remove the bullet.”
