Town of Bath/Berkeley Springs Cracking Down on Wrong Way Parkers

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — The number of vehicles in Berkeley Springs is on the rise, and so is the number of vehicles parking in the wrong direction.

That according to Berkeley Springs Police Chief William Carper who says his department will begin enforcing Town Ordinance Sec. 78-168 regarding Right and left parallel parking and angle parking.
Carper warns motorists to park their vehicles on the side of the road with the flow of traffic.
He says doing otherwise forces motorists to cross into the wrong side of the road to park or to leave the spot ” which puts yourself and others in a harmful situation” and can cause an accident.
Beginning October 1st Town of Bath police will place notices on cars parked the wrong way. Beginning October 15th, any vehicle found out of compliance will be ticketed.
