MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Tickets for the annual Toughman contest go on sale Monday.

The Original Toughman Contest of West Virginia will be making a stop in Martinsburg Feb. 19 and 20 at the Berkeley 2000 Rec Center.

Executive Director of Martinsburg-Berkeley County Parks and Rec Steve Catlett said the event is popular and often fills the Rec Center to capacity.

“We have to turn the air conditioner on in February because there’s so many bodies in there the temperature rises,” Catlett said.

He said the event is a big money maker for the parks and rec department.

The boxing contest offers 4 weight classes for men and women, with prize money slated to be up to $12,000.

Tickets are available at the Berkeley 2000 Rec Center.
