Thursday Evening Winds Knocked Down Five Power Poles at One Time in Baker Heights

BAKER HEIGHTS, W.Va. — Winds blew down five power poles in the Baker Heights area Thursday evening, blocking the road and shutting off power to area residents.
It happened on Van Clevesville Road just after 5 p.m. Several homes in the area around the Martinsburg VA Medical Center reportedly lost power.
As of 7 p.m. , multiple crews from Potomac Edison and Comcast were on the scene making repairs, according to the Baker Heights Volunteer Fire Department, who said the poles were back up around 11 o’clock.
Some residents had gotten their power back on by midnight.
