Morgan County Sheriff KC Bohrer says the 14-year-old is new to the area and has never ventured out this far before.

The teen, described as a Latino male, 5 feet 5 inches, 140 pounds with short black hair. He was last reportedly wearing an orange jacket, which Sheriff Bohrer says was not a lot of protection against the cold temperatures overnight:

The search began last night utilizing search dogs from neighboring Frederick County, Virginia, but was halted due to the darkness.

On Monday morning, volunteers reconvened to restart the search:

Residents are asked to check their outdoor video cameras for any signs of the teenager, and to check their property:

A picture provided by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office shows the teen wearing the jacket he was last seen in.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (304) 258-1067.
