Rob Blair Talks About New Role As New Berkeley County Sheriff

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — It’s been a few weeks on the job for interim Berkeley County Sheriff Rob Blair, who talked about the process of being hired.  The former West Virginia State Trooper talked about his new role on a recent edition of Panhandle Live.

Blair says to him, law enforcement is a family business.

Blair says there’s more to the position of sheriff than law enforcement.

He says there are several vacancies on his staff he’d love to fill.

On January 18, The Berkeley County Council unanimously appointed Rob Blair to the post out of a field of eight men who signed up for the job.

Sheriff Blair was sworn in by Judge Steven Redding January 19th.

He will fill out the remainder of the term vacated when former Sheriff Nathan Harmon resigned in December. Harmon is running to claim that post back.
Blair is also running in the Republican Primary, as is Davy Jones.

David Jackson is the lone Democrat running for Berkeley County Sheriff.
