RANSON – W.Va. — The city of Ranson’s longtime mayor passed away on Friday evening.
71 year old David Hamill served Ranson for 30 years, and watched the city grow significantly during that time.
Hamill was diagnosed with cancer of the liver duct in 2015, and earlier this year he told his friends and family his time was limited.
Through sunset on February 12, city officials have ordered all flags in Ranson to be lowered to half-mast as a tribute to Hamill.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been arranged as of Saturday morning.
