Pedestrian Dies of Injuries After Dual Highway Accident

HAGERSTOWN, MD — Police in Hagerstown say a man has died of his injuries after a
pedestrian accident on the Dual Highway.

It happened on Saturday. Officers with the Hagerstown City Police Department were called just after 2 in the afternoon to the 1800 block of the Dual Hwy for a report of a pedestrian struck.

Community Rescue Services had arrived on scene prior to officers and were already providing life saving measures to a 57 year old male lying next to the roadway, according to a press release from HPD.  The victim was transported to Meritus Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

An Accident Reconstructionist responded to the scene to conduct an investigation. The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with the investigation.
This is an ongoing investigation and at this times names of the victim and the person driving the vehicle are not being released.
