Murder Suspect from July Homicide in Hagerstown Apprehended in North Carolina

HAGERSTOWN, MD — A suspect in a July 2023 murder in Hagerstown has been apprehended.

The Hagerstown Police Department tells The Panhandle News Network 41-year-old  Brian Christopher Francis was apprehended by FBI agents in Charlotte, North Carolina  December 16th.
He was extradited back to Maryland  December 27th.
Francis was wanted on numerous charges including 1st & 2nd degree murder and attempted murder of two individuals in a July shooting on Brinker Drive in Hagerstown.

“His apprehension was a joint effort amongst the following partner agencies: FBI Baltimore, Frederick Resident Agency, the United States Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, Hagerstown PD CIU and CSU, and Washington County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force,” according to HPD.
