Motorists Urged to Let Road Crews Work

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Roads around the area were snow and ice-packed and interstate on-ramps slippery as folks woke up from a snow storm that lasted most of the daytime hours yesterday and into the night.

Martinsburg Mayor Harriet Johnson asks folks to be patient as public works employees work to keep the roads safe. “Stay off the roads. Let them get their work done. We’re hoping by the weekend they’ll be able to pick up the snow piles. It takes time.”

And when the streets are clear? She says to come to downtown Martinsburg for the holidays.
