Morgan County Sheriff Seeks Car Care for Fleet

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — Morgan County Sheriff KC Bohrer is looking for a mechanic for the fleet.         

On Thursday, he released information about the Sheriff’s Department fleet as part of a request for bids for vehicle maintenance and towing. Bids are due by January 31st.

“Police vehicles are essential vehicles, and all routine maintenance must be expeditiously performed
within a reasonable amount of time,” the bid request says. “The Morgan County Sheriff’s Department is preparing a list of vendors to perform routine maintenance for 2024.
Routine maintenance is defined oil changes, filter change, fluid check and tops offs, brake check and tire rotation.”

Any maintenance or replacement or parts beyond oil change, filter change and fluid top offs and checking of brakes is not considered in this bid and must be prior approved on a case-by-case
basis and would not be included in the price bid.

He says fleet vehicles are serviced at 5,000 mile intervals and use synthetic oil (not support or reserve vehicles).

“Towing Bids pertaining to the towing department vehicles. This does NOT pertain to calls for other vehicles towed by MCSD for crashes, arrests, abandoned vehicles, etc.,” the request continues. “These will be distributed pursuant to the Morgan County Towing Policy.”

Three 2021 Ford Police Utility,
One F150 Police Responder,
Two 2020 Ford Police Utility,
One 2019 Dodge Durango,
Two 2018 Ford Police Utility,
Two 2017 Ford Police Utility
One 2014 Dodge Durango,
Two 2015 Dodge Charger,
One 2014 Dodge Durango,
One 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe
Two 2014 Ford Sedans, One
2012 Ford Expedition,
One 2011 Chevrolet Impala (Deputy Reserves)
One 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe (Winter Patrol)

“The MCSD reserves the exclusive right to pick the vendor of its choice,” according to the Sheriff.

All bids for routine maintenance are to be received in writing and marked “Routine Maintenance Bid 2024” to: Sheriff K.C. Bohrer, 226 Gayle Drive Berkeley Springs, WV 25411 prior to close of business on January 31st, 2024.
