Morgan County Sheriff Bohrer: LEO Worked Around the Clock to Bring Bosben-Grayson in After Death of Elderly Morgan County Man

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — The man wanted in the death of an elderly man in Morgan County last week was arrested Tuesday in Jefferson County.

Morgan County Sheriff KC Bohrer talks about the investigation that led to the arrest of 30-year-old Ian Bosben-Grayson in the parking lot of the Jefferson Commons in Charles Town. Bosben-Grayson had been named a suspect in the death of 75-year-old Geoffrey Reed, who was found dead in his home on Clear Springs Lane South of Berkeley Springs on Friday.

Bosben-Grayson was named a suspect in the death of 75-year-old Geoffrey Reed, who was found dead in his home on Clear Springs Lane South of Berkeley Springs on Friday.   Sheriff Bohrer said the investigation started immediately.

Early in the week, the sheriff’s office posted pictures of the suspect and asked for the public’s help.

Stolen items from the victim’s home were used to track the suspect down.

Jefferson County Chief Deputy Victor Lupus arrested Bosben-Grayson without incident and recovered the victim’s car.

Investigators say the cause of Reed’s death was blunt force trauma.

Sheriff Bohrer said the investigation was aided by the US Marshal’s service and as of mid-morning Tuesday, Morgan County Sheriff’s Captain Tim Stapleton and Lt. Seth Place were enroute to Jefferson County to process the vehicle for evidence.

Sheriff Bohrer said it was important to update the public because they were understandably concerned while the suspect, described by law enforcement as “extremely dangerous” was at large.

Reed’s body was taken to the state Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding the man’s death is asked to contact the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department at 304-258-1067.
