Morgan Cabin Fall Festival Postponed to Next Weekend Due to Forecast

BUNKER HILL, W.Va. — Citing weekend rain forecast in the wake of Hurricane Ian, organizers of the
Morgan Cabin fall festival have postponed the event to Sunday on October 9th, 10 AM to 4 PM.

Morgan Cabin is located at 2913 Runnymeade Road, Gerrardstown.

October 9th, Lunch will be provided by Tobin’s Country Catering at noon. The menu will include pork BBQ, scalloped potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw and dessert for $15.

There will be a hog calling contest, arts and craft displays, blacksmith demonstration, Morgan Cabin tours, colonial period militia reinactors, kids activities and living history activities. There will be an auction of delicious homemade cakes and other items.

Homemade apple butter will be sold for $10 a quart and $7 a pint.

Military reenactors from the 8th Virginia Regiment will reenact the 18th century and revolutionary war period events. There will also be people representing the African-American community and dressed in 18th century costume to talk about the lives of the slaves of that period.
