Miss Berkeley County crowned

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Eight contestants took the stage Saturday night at the Apollo Civic Theatre for the annual Miss Berkeley County Scholarship organization Pageant.

Five ladies competed for the Miss Berkeley County title, Abigail Harman, 18, Jordan Robinson, 20, , Tess Hyre, 21, Maryann Fisher, 20, and Danielle Stephenson, 17.

McKenzie Davis,  14, Grace Aulabaugh, 16 and Sabrina Harrison, 15, competed for the title of Miss Berkeley County’s Outstanding Teen.

Abigail Harman was ultimately crowned Miss Berkeley County 2016.

“It feels amazing,” Harman said after being crowned. “This is my very first pageant ever. I was not projecting for this to happen. I;m just in shock right now.”

It was Grace Aulabaugh who took home the Miss Berkeley County Outstanding Teen title.

This was her first pageant as well.

“I got into it because I was looking for a stage to dance on,”  She said. “I just went from there.”

Aulbaugh said being crowned was a wonderful feeling.

“It’s just amazing to know I can do anything I set my mind to,” she said.

Both will receive scholarship money and have the chance to compete at the state level in June.

The Miss Berkeley County Scholarship Organization is an affiliate of the Miss America Organization.
