MD State Police Cross State Lines for Aerial Rescue of Harpers Ferry Hiker, Dog

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. — First responders from Maryland State Police extended a helping hand to their neighbors in West Virginia. The State Police helicopter was dispatched to the mountains of the Harpers Ferry Historical Park late Sunday evening.

That’s where a 27-year-old man and his dog found themselves stuck and in need of help. Local emergency crews couldn’t get to them and the helicopter helped bring the hiker and his dog to safety. Thankfully the two escaped any serious injuries.
