Martinsburg Police Department Releases Information about Shots Fired, Arrest

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Martinsburg Police say they have arrested a man after responding to a shots fired call. A man, later identified as 35-year-old Wesley Cribb told police he had been in a verbal altercation at the 7-11 on Winchester Avenue and when he got home, he says three men got out of a vehicle and began shouting at him. One of them reportedly shot at him.
Officers found shell casings on the scene.
Video footage from nearby shows a car near the residence and multiple subjects leaving the vehicle and appearing to shout up the street toward Cribb. He can be seen on the video pointing a handgun with with an extended magazine in the direction of the individuals at which time you can hear a gunshot according to police.
A short time later officers executed a search warrant on Cribbs’s residence and located a 9mm hand gun with two magazines one of which was an extended magazine. Cribb was arrested and charged with Wanton Endangerment and Being a Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm, this stemming from a prior felony assault and battery conviction.

Cribb reportedly told police he pointed the firearm in the direction of the subjects and fired the gun but could not say where the round went.
