Martinsburg PD: Threat at North Middle cleared

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The investigation into a threat made on social media toward a Berkeley County middle school has been closed.

Martinsburg Police said they were notified on Monday, September 9 of anonymous social media threats of a shooting at North Middle School.

Police began working with school administration and increased patrols inside and outside of the school.

After several interviews, police identified the juvenile behind the threats. MPD Detectives filed a juvenile petition with the Berkeley County Prosecutor’s Office.

The juvenile will be charged with threats of terroristic acts.
