Man Arrested After Shooting incident in Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN, MD– A man is under arrest after a shooting at his home on Maryland Avenue Wednesday.

Hagerstown police report the call came in just before 4 in the afternoon. HPD responded to the area of W. First St and Maryland Ave for a report of multiple shots fired. Officers recovered numerous shell casings in the area and learned that 2 structures in the 900 block of Maryland Ave were hit along with 5 different vehicles. There were no reported injuries.

Dejaniro Armante Rivera, age 25, was arrested. He was a resident of the home where the warrant was served. Rivera is charged with:

1st & 2nd degree attempted murder

1st& 2nd degree assault

Reckless endangerment

Numerous firearms related charges
