SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – On a hot Wednesday afternoon, the Shepherd Football coaching staff and players welcomed more than 130 high school student-athletes to Ram Stadium for the annual Shepherd Football Prospect Camp.

High school football players from around the tri-state laced up their cleats to improve on their game, but also try to shine while under the watchful eye of Rams Head Coach Ernie McCook. “They’re working hard and we’re glad to have them on campus” said McCook.

Along with the head ball coach, assistant coach Jason Hare, new offensive coordinator Tyler Haines and the rest of the coaching staff took part in running the drills and organizing the campers.

A keen eye would be able to pick out around a dozen current Shepherd football players in and around the drills.  2021 Harlon Hill Trophy Winner Quarterback Tyson Bagent looked like he was working out for a scholarship while showing the campers how the QB drills are done. “I think this is always a pretty cool time. I came to this camp a couple of times in my high school career. So now, seeing the young dudes out here gettin’ it in, gettin’ ready for their season, and showing a university like Shepherd like their stuff, is always a good time” said Bagent during a much-needed water break.

The Rams start their season on the road against Southern Connecticut State Thursday, September 1st at 5:30 pm. Tune in to every Shepherd Football game this season on 95.9 The Big Dawg
