Jefferson, Washington graduation ceremonies postponed after governor’s recent order

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — In line with Governor Jim Justice’s new orders restricting crowd sizes, Jefferson County Schools will postpone graduation ceremonies that were scheduled for August 1st.

The Panhandle News Network previously reported Jefferson and Washington High schools would have an in person ceremony on Washington’s football field.

The governor’s new order limits crowd sizes to 25 or fewer.

The school system says they remain committed to holding the ceremony their students asked for and will do so once able.
