MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — 150 hospice volunteers were recognized at an event Tuesday night.
With eight years of service, volunteer Jo Wynn was named Volunteer of the Year for Hospice of the Panhandle. She has logged more than 1,300 hours of service, 342 of them booked in the last year.

Volunteers can sign up to work a lot of hours or just a few, but in the end, it adds up to a lot:
Local Hospice volunteers drove more than 40,000 miles, and they saved the agency more than $220,000.
Volunteer of the Year Jo Wynn, of Charles Town, began her work volunteering primarily as a inpatient facility volunteer, but last year, her work with the marketing and fundraising department made her stand out.
Wynn said she was humbled and honored to receive the award.
Tuesday’s event was held at War Memorial Park, Wynn and more than 100 volunteers and staff members gathered to share the department’s successes over the past year.
