Hagerstown Police Department Releases Information Ahead of City Case Featured on America’s Most Wanted

HAGERSTOWN, MD — The Hagerstown Police Department says a local case will be featured on an upcoming segment of America’s Most Wanted.

That episode will air this evening at 8 p.m. and will focus on the manhunt for the suspect in the shooting death of Sharron Clark of Hagerstown.

That suspect is 20-year-old Taejon Najeire Gill.  HPD is offering an award for information that leads to Gill’s arrest.

A press release regarding the segment was made available Monday morning.

“On 2/19/24 America’s Most Wanted will air the homicide case of Sharron Clark at 8pm EST. HPD is searching for wanted murder suspect Taejon Gill. This homicide occurred in 2022 and Gill’s whereabouts are currently unknown. If the public knows where Gill is in their local community we ask that they call 911. Tipsters can also remain anonymous by sending tips to [email protected],” according to the press release.

The original press release from October of 2022 said  Gill should not be approached and is considered armed and dangerous. If he is seen, dial 911. Gill is from the Hagerstown area but his current whereabouts are unknown.

On October 18th of 2022, at about 8:00 pm, Officers of the Hagerstown Police Department were in the Jonathan St area when they heard the sound of shots fired. As they were attempting to locate where they came from, the Emergency Communications Center took a 911 call. The caller stated that there was a gunshot victim in front of 55 Murph Ave. Within moments, officers located the victim, later identified as Sharron Akraim Clark (age 45 of Hagerstown) with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began first aid and continued life saving measures until emergency medical service personnel arrived. Clark was transported to Meritus Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.

Criminal Investigators were called to the scene and Western Maryland Regional Crime Lab personnel responded to process evidence. This is an active investigation and any further information will be released as appropriate; no further information will be released at this time.
