Hagerstown Man Charged With First Degree Murder after Man Shot, Killed at Funkstown Bar

HAGERSTOWN, MD — A Hagerstown man has been charged with First Degree Murder and additional charges after a shooting early Monday morning in Funkstown, MD.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Department reports Darrin Anthony White, 25, of Hagerstown, is being held without bond at the Washington County Detention Center.
The charges stem from the death in the April 11th death of  Erwin Bernard Redding, 39, of Hagerstown.
Deputies were dispatched to the scene of a shooting at 12:40 Monday morning 12:40 AM at  Joker’s Bar and Grill, 2 West Baltimore Street, Funkstown, MD.
Upon arrival Deputies located an adult male, outside of the bar, with gunshot wounds. The male was transported to Meritus Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries, according to an earlier press release from the sheriff’s department.
White turned himself in to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office without incident.
White has been charged with 1st Degree Murder, 2nd Degree Murder, 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, Possession of a Handgun, Carrying/Concealed Handgun, Possession of a Handgun in Vehicle, Carrying/Concealed Handgun in Vehicle, Firearm use/Felony/Violent Crime, and Reckless Endangerment.
