Friday Morning Traffic Stop on Two Vehicles Nets Drug, Gun Arrests: Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A double traffic stop conducted by a Berkeley County Sheriff’s deputy netted arrests on gun and drug charges.

A press release from the BCSD says around 3:00 Friday morning, Corporal J. Shockey simultaneously conducted a traffic stop on two vehicles on Foxcroft Avenue, in the area of Apple Harvest Drive.               

Deputies conducted a search of a 2021 Ford F150, which was operated by Derrick Hollins, age 50, of Inwood, according to the press release from the Sheriff’s office, which says they reportedly located ten individual bags of suspected cocaine and one bag containing suspected fentanyl.

“A loaded handgun was also located, which was seized as evidence after the investigation revealed that Hollins is a convicted felon which prohibits him from possessing firearms.”

Derrick Hollins has been charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver fentanyl, and prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
