Fire Crews Respond to South Berkeley Fire in Downpour Monday

INWOOD, W.Va. — Fire crews in South Berkeley responded from around the county in a downpour Monday evening to a fire with possible entrapment at a townhouse.

The South Berkeley Volunteer Fire Company reports the call came in from Tabler Station Manor. They were joined by Baker Heights Volunteer Fire Department, City of Martinsburg Fire Department, Berkeley County Professional Firefighters Local 5045, and the 167th AW Fire Department as well as the VAMC Fire Department’s Tower 80 among others.
“Aggressive hand line placement and fire suppression resulted in a quick stop being made on the fire.”

One townhouse unit sustained heavy fire damage to the rear and room areas. No injuries were reported, and fire spread was limited resulting in neighboring/connected units being saved.

The post from the fire department expressed appreciation to the responding fire crews and those who reported the fire and alerted their neighbors to evacuate their townhomes.
