Finalists for 2023 West Virginia School Service Personnel of the Year include Three from the Eastern Panhandle

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — There are 10 finalists for the 2023 West Virginia School Service Personnel of the Year, including three from the Eastern Panhandle.

The West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) announced the finalists on Monday which represent counties around the state.

Finalists include:

Susan Clark, Receptionist at Warm Springs Middle School, Morgan County

Wendy Dodson, Secretary at Jefferson County Schools, Jefferson County

Kaare Mejias, Finance Secretary at Martinsburg North Middle School, Berkeley County

State Superintendent of Schools W. Clayton Burch called them unsung heroes who “with their compassion and determination—exemplify the ideal caring adults working to support our students.”

West Virginia’s School Service Personnel of the Year and Teacher of the Year will be announced on September 13, during a ceremony at the West Virginia Culture Center in Charleston.
